I'm a OS X user, however I still prefer some aspects of Linux apps/tools over the native mac versions.
One really really huge pet hate of mine is the 'MPlayer OS X' app, relative to it parent project is useless!
mplayer is great, it'll play _ANYTHING_ (I guess depending on your binary) however I just simply can't get the 'official' mac version to work!!??!?! </rant>
Anyway, I use macports to compile up Linux'y tools for my mac, however some times I just want to play a video in mplayer _without_ fireing up a Terminal.
So I created the following basic mac .app, simply containing a symlink to /opt/local/bin/mplayer (where macports installs to), which allows me to use a real mplayer quickly from the mac ui.
